OLD FASHIONED SEA FOAM CANDY

3 cups light brown sugar
1 cup water
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 eggs whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup broken nut meats

Using egg beater blend, sugar, water and vinegar in a sauce pan and place over low stove heat. Stir until sugar dissolves. Cook to soft ball stage. Beat egg whites and salt until stiff and peaks. Pour syrup over in a thin stream, beating constantly. Putting kettle over boiling water, beat until it is thick and creamy. Add vanilla and nuts (if you care for nuts, that is). Pour into an greased or buttered tin. Cut into squares while still hot.
